Richard Greaves is a Canmore real estate agent and a friend. I’ve been working with him for over a year now and did more than three websites for him and his brokerage, RE/Max Alpine Realty. Alpine Realty was the first of his four websites built using Genesis Framework and a child theme.
I started working with web almost ten years ago. First, as a project manager and mostly using ExpressionEngine as the content management system. Over three years ago, WordPress got much better and I started implementing some websites using their content management system. WordPress is now powering 25% of the websites in the world. It is a huge number that we can’t ignore.
A year or so ago I transitioned my websites to use Genesis Framework and their child themes and I didn’t look back since then. Genesis is not just a robust and well-built framework for my sites, but it gives me the peace of mind that I need to be in this industry. I am not a developer – I don’t code, but I do implement WordPress websites and I do alter codes to create custom-built sites that will make you stand out in the crowd.
I also apply some SEO techniques to my projects: organic growth based on good content is my mantra. And that’s what I am doing for Richard. His first website was a bit too ‘young’ for his clients and I wanted a more classic look to rank on a very competitive market. I am now building his content and waiting for the site to mature. He will be on the top of Google’s list at some point – and you know what is best? He will stay there for many years to come.
