Cyd Fraser is one of those professionals you want to have close to you when you are tackling a difficult task. She does everything! A qualified and Red Seal journeyman carpenter, Cyd is also an accomplished master cross-country skier and mountain biker, mother of two teenage girls, an Event Manager, an ice carver, and a Professional Organizer. Her work as a volunteer in many local events is fundamental to Canmore, AB, the town she calls home for the last 23 years, after moving from Yukon.
As Artmann Communications were training her on social media usage, we mentioned how important it was to have a website: a place where you can call home! So, we offered to build her WordPress website using a template to showcase her wonderful work. Artmann Communications took the pictures and prepared them to be on the rotating images at the homepage, chose the plugins, setup the entire site including content and that’s what we got: cydfraser.ca. Jean McAllister, from Dark Horse Company, designed Cyd’s beautiful logo.
During this process, Cyd had some slideshows to create, so we introduced her to Movie Maker on PC and spent a few hours showing her what she could accomplish with still photographs. It was a personal project (you can see it here) but gave her a sense of what she could do: “Gosh, so much learning all the time but I am going to a new level of documentation for my clients now. I will do a small You Tube video of all the projects, give them to clients and put on the website.”
We see our website as our hub, a place where we can showcase work, résumé, our expertise without being tied to social media channels rules and constant changes. Cyd Fraser is finding ways to use her website and take advantage of it and this is inspiring, to say the least.
LOVE your website!
